La première réserve naturelle régionale d'Auvergne devrait voir le
jour dans le Cantal courant 2012, à Dienne plus exactement, sur le site du
Rocher de Laqueuille.
Ancien cratère de lave mis en relief par l'érosion, comportant deux
tourbières à son sommet, le Rocher de Laqueuille devrait bénéficier d'un
périmètre de protection de 48 hectares. Le Conseil municipal de Dienne s'est
déjà prononcé à l'unanimité en faveur d'un projet mené par Christian Bouchardy
à la Région.
